The idea of creating this project came on a trip to India in 2014. The following year "Little Buda" was already a dream come true. In 2015 one of the best schools in Portugal, accepted the challenge to be the pilot school. It passed a year and the results go far beyond what we had expected.

The project consists in bringing meditation into the classroom. Through a very simple meditation exercise students become calmer, more attentive in class and with better results. The project is intended for all students from the 3rd year. Our team teaches the teachers of the schools so that they can do meditation with students every day.

That all the schools can teach meditation to their students. We don’t want meditation as an extra-curricular activity but as a daily practice so that we can provide all children a natural and holistic growth. Let us save education, let us save the children, let us save the planet.

Create evolution in the educational system so that everyone can grow in a healthy and natural way and we can all live in a peaceful world!

Nowadays one of the major problem’s of students is lack of concentration . As a result, some end up feeling anxiety, frustration and low self-esteem, which often lead to medication. Part of this anxiety is due to the accelerated pace of life imposed on them, the immense load of matter, reviews, home-works, high workload and the over-stimulation of the digital age.

This is where our project comes in. We cannont eliminate the external elements of stress, but we will teach the students a holistic and natural technique that will allow them to have a better management of their intellect and emotions.

By practicing the "Quiet Time" , the name we gave to the meditation technique in class , students eliminate the anxiety of the moment . They are quieter and more focused, more empathetic with each other and in relation to the teacher, which leads to an increase of personal satisfaction , productivity and awareness.

"Meditation NOT medication."

“The recent meta-reviwed of the impact of meditation in schools combined the results from 15 studies and almost 1800 students from Australia, Canada, India, the UK, the US and Taiwan. The research showed meditation is beneficial in most cases and led to three broad outcomes for students: higher well-being, better social skills and greater academic skills.” The Huffington Post

More than 400,000 children in the US are benefiting from the program MindUp (meditation in schools).

“I'm glad to know that my son's school joined the program "Little Buda", we all gain from it.“

A child's father
